APS Professional Learning & Conference Center (PLCC)
The Aurora Public Schools Board of Education meetings are generally held on the first and third Tuesdays of each month at 6 p.m. The meetings are open to the public.
In 2017-18, the Board meetings will follow one of these formats: Regular Business Meetings, Board Work Sessions, Board Workshops and Executive Sessions. Board agendas identify the meeting format.
Regular Business Meetings
Regular Business Meetings provide the Board an opportunity to conduct its formal business. These meetings will be held in the APS Professional Learning and Conference Center, 15771 E. 1st Ave. [view map]
Work Sessions and Workshops provide the Board an opportunity to develop strategies and tasks for accomplishing key goals. The sessions may also provide the Board an opportunity to work with staff, parents, students and/or community members to better understand key initiatives and issues. These sessions will be held at the APS Professional Learning and Conference Center, 15771 E. 1st Ave. [view map]
Executive Sessions, which are closed to the public, provide the Board an opportunity to discuss topics such as personnel items, negotiations and consultations with legal staff. The Board will also hold targeted community engagement sessions at other dates and times to gather feedback on its work.
All open meetings of the Board are tape recorded. The official record of the Board proceedings is retained in written minutes that are permanently stored and available for public inspection at the Aurora Public Schools Educational Services Center 1, 15701 E. 1st Ave., Suite 206. Minutes for recent meetings, and agendas of future meetings, are available on this website or BoardDocs Pro.
